Mandatory and Recommended Equipment

  • HELMET REQUIRED: By law, everyone, including adults, must wear a certified helmet.
  • SUITABLE FOOTWEAR: Use sturdy winter boots with a good grip sole for braking. Sledding with ski boots or moon boots is not allowed!
  • GLOVES AND GOGGLES: Recommended to protect yourself from snow and cold.

Rules of Conduct on the Track

  • SAFETY DISTANCE: Start only when the track is clear and always maintain a safe distance (at least 8 meters) from the sled in front of you.
  • CONTROLLED SPEED: Adjust your speed to your abilities and the track/snow conditions. Always do a first reconnaissance and trial run.
  • HOW TO BRAKE: To brake effectively, press both feet firmly into the snow (using the entire sole of your shoe) while pulling the reins towards you.
  • HOW TO TURN: To turn best, pull the rope towards the inside of the curve and shift your weight. Remember: if you hit the wooden barriers, you've already made a mistake!
  • IN CASE OF A FALL: If you fall, clear the track as quickly as possible to avoid obstructing others. In case of an accident, provide first aid and call 112 if necessary.
